All of this was at prices affordable for anyone. Manchester Collection works directly with manufactures that are abroad in order to bring the current in-trend home fashion to you directly, passing on their many savings to their clients. Being a small retailer has allowed them to seizure feedback from clients and also to bring to this market the very latest innovations and new trending designs that larger retailers are not able to capture.
Established in 1993
Manchester Collection was established in 1993 and grew from a business that was initially party planning where they gathered time-poor customers the chance to buy bedding like quilt cover for the home from the comfort of their own homes. Their popularity was so great that by the early 1990s their first store was opened in Sunshine Plaza. By being enthusiasm and working hard, this one store quickly became the place that people were talking about. Manchester Collection liked getting to know new customers and also sharing first-hand knowledge of their products.
First buying trip
In 1999 they made their first trip to Europe for buying new and exclusive textilesfor home products/trends and this permitted Manchester Collection to bring to the market affordable and unique merchandise that their customers could not find anywhere. Their strong connection with factories overseas allowed them to import merchandise that was unique directly from European factories, and this allowed them to pass on savings to all their customers.
Drive and passion
Their drive that was continual with their passion of providing quality and exclusive products and designs allowed this business to grow from beginnings that were humble to establishing their footprint in most of Melbourne’s largest shopping centers in the region. Now close to 30 years on, a tiny idea had led to 5 stores in Melbourne to compete against many of Australia’s larger home fashion retailer.
